  • It feels like I found a way back to what is important in my creative practice and by extension my life. To root into what kind of life I want to live and what part creativity plays in it. Just a big thank you for offering this wonderful experience, Michelle, and for making everybody feel so welcome!

    Rebecca - Designer & Artist

  • I wanted this workshop to provoke my thinking about creativity, and it certainly did that.  I felt quite inspired by the ideas and activities that were shared. It was also really lovely to feel a sense of connection with the other participants. I do want to thank you for creating this and for curating such a warm and safe space for us.

    Caitilin - Creative Editor

  • Before, I felt very restricted and lacking in my creativity practice. I felt as if I was losing myself and my sense of purpose. I now feel more connected to myself and motivated to continue my practice. You've re-awoken my creative spirit!!

What to Expect

Guided Visualization
We’ll begin by dropping into presence with a gentle visualization to reconnect you with your inner creative landscape.

Reflective Journaling
Next, you’ll be guided through prompts to uncover what’s stirring beneath the surface and further reconnect with your practice

.

Ink Painting Session
From there, we’ll move into intuitive mark-making and imagined landscape painting. You’ll be guided to let go of expectations and explore the movement of ink, water, and chance.

Connection & Reflection
We’ll close by sharing reflections and creative discoveries - an optional but nourishing space to connect with fellow creatives

    • Ink - I use black sumi ink but any colour is fine as long as it’s fairly dark.

    • Water containers x 2

    • Brushes - ideally water colour brushes but you can get away with most. At least one larger one for flooding the page with water and another small/medium one for details

    • Paper - Ideally watercolour paper but I have used multimedia art paper in some of my examples. Should be thick as possible

    • Protective clothing

    • Protected surface

    • If you want to tape your pieces down to get an outlined edge and avoid warping have something you can tape to like a clip board or surface you can get get dirty.

    • Masking tape (optional)

    • Scissors

    • Table salt

    • Absorbant paper towels

    • Journal

  • Yes! There will be a recording sent out after the workshop so don’t fret if you can’t make it live. You can even do the class multiple times if you wish :)

  • NOPE. This is about play! The techniques I’ll teach you before you do your own explorations will give you interesting unpredictable and surprising results regardless of experience. The whole point is to play and be present without the pressure of outcome.
